About
the Artist

I love people, the way they speak differently, dress uniquely, and I LOVE learning about others passions. No matter our difference we are all beautiful, We are all stars! That’s what my art is all about- illustrating everyones beauty and light.
Stars have been showing up in my work for years. It originally started for esthetic reasons but grew into something more when I moved to London for art school. I was in a new city and seeking any comfort I could find. Then there it was, a shape. Something I had drawn a hundred times and they where everywhere! so I started looking for stars wherever I went.
Stars became a sign of good luck. Seeing them would be a gift from the universe, A sign that there was good on the way. I would be on my way to University and BAM!, a star in an advertisement. I kept my eyes peeled for the good the star had promised me. smiles from strangers, dropping something to have it kindly handed back to me. I was on the lookout for the good to be found. I was so invested in finding the good luck the stars brought me that I stopped noticing the things I would have often labeled as bad. Missing the train on my way to work was always a bummer, but not so much now. What if there was someone on the next train I was meant to meet or help? The gray sky stopped being so gray because I simply didn’t see it. I was too busy looking around me, searching for the light. and seeing stars.
Then I started seeing people as stars. Seeing their smiles, how strangers went about their day, not knowing them but still seeing their light. I can’t pretend to understand everyone’s story, but through choosing to see the light in people, I was able to see it! I was slower to judge and quicker to help when I saw someone in need.
When I was mad at someone all I would have to do is imagine them with a big star head and the anger was gone. We are all just people - all light, stars roaming around the universe trying our best not to dim that light.
Looking for the light is not a way to ignore the sad things going on around us. I believe it gives us the opportunity to look at tragedy from a perspective of abundance. Instead of being consumed by the darkness, we can let our light shine and find ways to share it with those who need it. Acting from fear can only bring more fear, but sharing your light is a gift that shines for years.
Please remember you are a star!
And I love you
